'Jewish Refugees in Shanghai' photo exhibition

The Jewish Refugees in Shanghai Exhibition (1933-1941) brings together for the first time photos, personal stories, and artifacts from the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum. The Confucius Institute at UCT invites you to view this unique exhibition from 26-30 September at UCT's Leslie Social Foyer on upper campus, and from 28 November to 23 December at the SA Jewish Museum in Cape Town.

CI-UCT participated in the 9th Chinese Bridge Preliminary Contest in South Africa for Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students

On Saturday 13th August, the 9th Chinese Bridge Preliminary Contest in South Africa for Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students was held in Cape Academy for Math, Science and Technology. Fourteen competitors from various secondary schools participated in the competition.

Chinese Cultural Programs in Session for Students at the School of Languages and Literatures at UCT

The Chinese cultural programmes for students at the School of Languages and Literatures (SLL) at UCT started on Thursday 4 August 2016. It is widely known that language and culture are inseparable, and as a supplement to the Chinese course in SLL, the programmes aim to stimulate learners’ enthusiasm for Chinese learning and enhance their Chinese cultural awareness.
